Historical sites
relevant to the Kissam family can be found all over Long Island. Family
members and local historical associations all play a part in preserving
family history. For example, the Kissam House, 18th century home of
Daniel Whitehead Kissam, is owned by the Huntington Historical Society, which
now uses it as an educational site for school groups and the community.
The Dr.
Daniel Whitehead Kissam house (circa 1795) is open to the public by
appointment and is home to an exhibit of Kissam family history and many items
in the Kissam family collection. It is located at 434 Park
Avenue in Huntington, Long Island, one block south of the
intersection of 25A and across the street from the Cinema Arts Center
