Historical sites relevant to the Kissam family can be found all over Long Island.  Family members and local historical associations all play a part in preserving family history.  For example, the Kissam House, 18th century home of Daniel Whitehead Kissam, is owned by the Huntington Historical Society, which now uses it as an educational site for school groups and the community.
 
The Dr. Daniel Whitehead Kissam house (circa 1795) is open to the public by appointment and is home to an exhibit of Kissam family history and many items in the Kissam family collection.  It is located at 434 Park Avenue in Huntington, Long Island, one block south of the intersection of 25A and across the street from the Cinema Arts Center
